"The blues are because you're getting fat and maybe it's been raining too long, you're just sad that's all."

Breakfast at Tiffany's
My holiday was wonderful. It has taken me nearly a week to shake off the sadness that it is all over.
I met some incredible and inspirational people. I am in awe of their drive and passion for their sport. I feel lucky to have ridden with them. The sights I have seen and the roads I have ridden can only be described as heavenly. A once in a life time experience.
I've been tired this week and have only managed one turbo (Friday), and one 120km ride (today), since my return. Two things have been helping me regain my va va voom: watching the Vuelta a Espana and reading about Ben Thomas' (most patient person ever, wearing black / orange kit in the photo above), training and racing at the Gorrick 12 hour mtb enduro. He won with his team (sponsored by Torq)!
On my return journey into the city, I saw this crazy little machine flying down Piccadilly. It pulled up outside LMNH about an hour later:
It is essentially a recumbent bicycle covered in a carbon shell. Its owner informs me he hit 65mph on the A4 last week. It made me smile. My blues have been blown away.
