Autumn

Long Sunday rides have kept me sane while I've started to build up my running.

Late October sunshine is the perfect tonic to shortening days.

This tree-lined track has always reminded me of roads in France.

I was once told Napoleon planted them to keep his troops cool as they marched.

It is a perfect pausing place for mid-ride breathers.

Later I travelled north to visit a favourite holiday spot.

The weather was beginning to turn but the scenery remained breathtaking.

The ride from Whitby to Sandsend is awe inspiring.

The climb away from the cove is equally impressive.

The town has come to feel much like home.

The few days I spent here made me very happy.
