A Sense of Control

I rode to Richmond Park after work today.  Waiting for me was the lovely Peta McSharry.  It was a mild evening and there was an incredible sunset.  Peta and I tootled round the park as fast as our commuting bikes (a Brompton and a single speed), and big backpacks would allow.  We chatted all the way and only stopped to take in the view.  I love riding my bike.  I love it particularly at the moment because of the sense of control it gives me.  I am very grateful to my friends for being there when I otherwise might have wimped out.  Thank you.
